About

Hi Friends;

Thanks for stumbling across our blog! There’s a first time for everything!!

My name is Jackie, and I’m a wife, a mother of four, and a grandmother of nine. A typical Dutch family— large!

But, this blog isn’t so much about my family as it is about the wonderful work that God is doing in Haiti. This blog is an effort to celebrate God’s work in and through Pastor Guzman, a pastor whose home church is in Santo Domingo, DR, who devoted the past 20 years of his life to spreading the Gospel in Haiti.

We met Pastor Guzman through our dear friend, Pastor Frank Barker & Chuck Barker, who had worked alongside him for many years while teaching in the Dominican Republic (DR).

Pastor Barker insisted we come with him on his final trip to the DR to see how the Lord was working there. Our first meeting with Pastor Guzman sparked an immediate bond of love and friendship. After many conversations about his work in both the DR and Haiti, he invited (commanded?) us to witness for ourselves the work the Lord has called him to do.

We visited Haiti for the first time in June 2016 just to see the work—the Lord’s work—being done. We’ve returned three times, in March and August of 2017, and again in August of 2018. During these trips, Henry has helped teach the Haitian people about God’s providence and Reformed Theology.

Our trips to Haiti have become a tradition, and this blog is an invitation for you to join us on our journeys!
